Lactate is a well-known metabolite in both the clinical and applied sports performance sectors. It has been popularized endurance sports due to the abundance of literature published on the role of lactate in performance and changes in lactate metabolism through various training interventions, to name a few. Additionally, due to the relative ease of measurement of this physiological marker, coaches, athletes, and sport scientists can monitor lactate response both in the lab and outdoors.

In this webinar, you will learn about the bioenergetics of lactate during exercise, its role in endurance and team sports, expected adaptations to training, and basics of taking measurements. Both theoretical and practical topic areas will be presented, with a focus on the more practical side of the application of lactate data to sports performance. You will also hear additional data regarding lactate measurement accuracy, use of the Nova Lactate Plus meter for athlete training, and the use of lactate testing in other settings.
